HJC News - Acharei-Kedoshim

Condolences on the passing of Sandy Cohen. The family will be sitting Shiva at Sandy's home, 3794 Bushnell until Sunday mid-morning, then going to their own homes until the conclusion of Shiva on Tuesday morning.

Note the schedule change: Throughout the summer, the weekday Mishnayos Shiur will be before Mincha, and not after Maariv.  This week, the Mishnayos Shiur will begin at 7:45pm.  Afterwards, it will be 30 minutes before Mincha, Sunday through Thursday.

During the Drasha this Shabbos, I will be speaking about "The meaning of the Zohar to people who don't care about Kabbala."

During Shalosh Seudos until Rosh Hashana, we are learning the third perek in Pirkei Avos, in a series called "The less obvious but equally important lessons of Pirkei Avos."

The next Simcha Kiddush will take place on  May 16th. All members are invited to celebrate their simchas for the month (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) by co-sponsoring a chulent kiddush for as little as $18 per name (you can donate more if you wish).

Good Shabbos
