HJC News - Parshas Toldos

Refuah Sheleima to:
Larry Pomerantz
Helen Rothman

We welcome Nachshon Schlesinger as a new member of Heights Jewish Center.

Jeff and Melanie Muller are hosting the Friday night Oneg tonight at 8:15 PM this week at their home, 2440 Elmdale Rd. We would love to see you there.

Kiddush this Shabbos is sponsored by Chuck and Sandra Zeitler to commemorate the Yahrzeit of Sandra's mother Genessah bas Yosel A'H.

This week at Shalosh Seudos I will be speaking about Rabbi Aharon Kotler, founding Rosh Yeshiva of Beis Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, NJ,  and Rabbi Dr. Dov Revel, president of Yeshiva University, who share a Yohrtzeit, this Shabbos the 2nd of Kislev. An interesting pairing.  Sponsorship is still available.

Addendum to last week's email. Last week's Shalosh Seudos was also sponsored by Hillel and Zahava Seltzer in memory of Zahava's mother Mrs Naomi Adler A"H.

This Shabbos Morning's Coffee Club is sponsored by Rob and Jan Altshuler. This year, the Parsha Shiur which meets on Shabbos morning at 8:30am, is focusing on the deep insights of the sefer Torah Ohr.  A variety of Coffees for those who want or need caffeine before davening are offered.  And mezonos refreshments for those who need calories in their systems before davening will be there as well.  To sponsor future weeks of the Coffee Club, please contact the office 216-382-1958 or hjcsoffice@gmail.com

We are exploring the interest in having a coffee club on Sunday morning AFTER Shacharis. Please contact me or Lazer Porter if this interests you.

We would love to see your kids in shul. In an effort to help and welcome families, we have child care available on Shabbos morning; younger children have a program run by Chaya Leba Winters. And Rabbi Kirsch runs a stellar youth program starting at 10:15am.

New Podcast episode: Shabbos is for music.

If you know people who listen to podcasts or recorded shiurim while commuting or traveling, tell them about the Explorations Podcast. Available here: https://anchor.fm/raphael-davidovich or here: https://audio.hjcs.org/

The second class, a review of Chapters 18-25: https://youtu.be/RRt0Fc8MAQU

I hope these are helpful in summarizing the ideas discussed in the One Chapter per class recordings that have been posted this year.
