Heights Jewish Center will have a dairy meal to break the fast after the Megillah reading on March 6th. While we are not charging for the Break-the-Fast, we are looking for sponsors!  Like the Simcha Kiddush, you can honor or remember someone for a minimum of $18 per name!  If you wish to sponsor, please contact Phil Setnik or the Office! Please also RSVP.  In addition to the Break-the-Fast there will be a Split the Pot Raffle. Tickets are $18

HJC News - Parshas Mishpatim - Parshas Shekalim - Shabbos Mevorchim

This Shabbos is Shabbos Mevorchim Adar. Rosh Chodesh Adar is this Tuesday and Wednesday. The Purim Schedule will be available next week.

Kiddush and Shalosh Seudos will take place in the Trevor Fink Social Hall this Shabbos. 

Remember, Shabbos is busy at Heights: We've got the Coffee Club with Torah Ohr on Shabbos at 8:30am, child care during davening, the Navi Shiur now learning Sefer Yechezkel, the navi who taught Jews how to do Teshuva in order to end the Golus, 30 minutes before Mincha. And at Shalosh Seudos, we will speak about Reb Yisrael Salanter, whose 140th yohrtzeit was the 25th of Shevat.

The Social Hall on the main level is set up for a special Women's Panel on Taharas Hamishpacha open to all women in the community this Motzoei Shabbos at 8:30pm. All married women are encouraged to attend.  The flyer for the event is attached to this email. 

 

This Sunday night, February 19 at 8 pm at Young Israel, the community is invited to an evening of Chizuk, including a special talk given by Rabbi Yissocher Frand. In the wake of recent tragedies in our community, our community needs chizuk.

 

Please join us for a break-the-fast following Megilla Reading, Purim Night, Monday March 6, 2023!  There will be a light dairy buffet (with "home-made" hamantaschen), music, and fun for all!  Sponsorships are available - and like our Simcha Kiddush, you can cosponsor by honoring someone for a minimum of $18 per name!  More details forthcoming - contact Jeff and Melanie Muller if you want to volunteer to help

HJC News - Parshas Yisro

Here's your reminder that we have childcare here at HJC on Shabbos morning. We love to see your children in shul.

Join us for Coffee Club on Shabbos morning at 8:30. We have coffee, hot cocoa, donuts for those who need the calories before an intense davening, and the in-depth teachings of Torah Ohr on the Parsha.

Shalosh Seudos is sponsored by Rob and Jan Altshuler to commemorate the yahrzeit of Rob's father, Yehuda Leib Ben Nissan A'H. I hope to speak about Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Bloch, founding Rosh Hayeshiva of Telz Cleveland.

Our shul's best kept secret is the Monday-thru-Friday Midrash Chabura (participatory class). Unlike many Medrash shiurim, we cover Medrash in order, and not by weekly Parsha. Last week, we completed Parshas Noach. We are about to get into Parshas Lech-Lecha, (starting a new volume of the Artscroll translation) which goes in-depth into all aspects of Avraham Avinu like you've never seen before. Every weekday morning at 6:15am. You'll never be late for Shacharis again, and Medrash awakens the neshama, making it a better Shacharis!

Remember that every Monday morning at 9:30am, Rebbetzin Deena Davidovich gives a class for women at our home. Young children are welcome to join their mothers (or grandmothers) as well.
