HJC News - Matos-Masei - Rosh Chodesh

Please be aware that babysitting and the youth group with Rabbi Kirsch have resumed as of last Shabbos. We would love to see people take advantage of this restored opportunity to come to shul with the knowledge that their children will be looked after.

Rebbetzin Davidovich will be speaking this Shabbos afternoon at 5:30pm at Yavne as part of the Zichron Chaim Summer Women's Lecture Series. All women are invited and encouraged to attend. She will be speaking on the topic of Shiras HaB'eir - The Song of the well - Wellsprings of Gratitude.

Shalosh Seudos this Shabbos is sponsored by Martin and Marla Lipman in honor of Martin's siyum on Masechta Yoma.

Remember, this Shabbos is Rosh Chodesh Av. The mourning practices of the "Nine Days" begin Motzoei Shabbos. Havdala should be made using wine (or grape juice). If there happens to be a boy between the ages of 6 and 10 at Havdala, you can have him drink the wine. Otherwise, it's entirely fine for the person making Havdala to drink the wine himself.
