Shavuos is in two weeks, and we want it to be memorable. We are making plans and want your input; on shiur topics as well as the menu for Shavuos night and a Neilas HaChag celebration. Please share your thoughts with me ASAP.

It is the custom during Yizkor to honor our dear departed by making a donation. Heights Jewish Center has developed a Yizkor memorial booklet that will be available on Shavuos, when Yizkor is said. Please contact the shul office with your donation and name submissions by May 27th.

As summer is fast approaching, please keep in mind that one of the many benefits of having a membership with Heights Jewish Center is the ability to have our children attend an overnight Jewish summer camp with a $1,000 grant available.
This program is NOT based on income levels, and all members can qualify but there are some restrictions (types of camps).  For more information, look at the attached flyer and please contact Jeff Muller.   Don't delay as summer is fast approaching!

The HJCS Development Committee invites all of you (members, family and friends) to our first Annual Fundraising Picnic to be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022  at the Cleveland MetroParks--South Chagrin Reservation--at the Shelter House area)  maps and details forthcoming).    Good food (including vegetarian selections) will be

There will be a community wide safety and security exercise THIS SUNDAY MORNING.
In cooperation with FEMA, UHPD, BEACHWOOD PD, and FEDERATION SECURITY, HJCS will be the target of a simulated terrorist attack.
There will be NO LIVE THREATS!....On Sunday morning about 6:00 A.M. a package will be placed near our rear entry doors.  There will be a guard on site to monitor this.  Please do NOT attempt to disturb this package.   Those of you davening at HJCS Sunday morning should exit after services and leave the property.  At about 9:00, there will be a simulated explosion of the package.  At that time first responders will be arriving, and access to the property (parking lot) will be denied until about noon.  If you will be needing access, you will need to remain in the building after davening.  Cars will be allowed to exit.  If you are authorized to carry a firearm at HJCS, you may NOT have live ammunition on your person once the exercise begins!  This exercise will be a minor inconvenience for us, but will be invaluable training for law enforcement.   Please cooperate.
